Consultations with Prof. Ezequiel Di Paolo: Free Energy Principle & Language in Interaction

We have the pleasure to invite you to a special HILL seminar this Wednesday (30.06) at 3 pm (GMT+2). Our guest will be Prof. Ezequiel Di Paolo. The meeting will have a form of consultations of ongoing projects, and topics of interests, of our lab.

  1. The first hour will be dedicated to the Free Energy Principle (in)compatibilities with Enactivism. The entry point for the discussion will be the article “Laying down a forking path: Incompatibilities between enaction and the free energy principle” (Di Paolo, 2019). Please prepare your questions!
  2. Then we will move on to the consultations of Master’s project on laryngectomees interaction and other works on language in interaction. Starting from the article “The co-creation of meaningful action: bridging enaction and interactional sociology” (De Jaegher et al., 2016) we will seek guidance for the integration possibilities of the enactive approach with conversational analysis and ecological psychology.

Please be prepared that there will be no actual presentation, but a moderated discussion from the start, assuming prior acquaintance with the subject.
